Every dark cloud had a silver lining and this time, while it may seem like the worst time and in so many ways it actually is, has also forcefully made us all stop and deal with the things we might have been running away from because either we were ‘busy’ or it was convenient to say we were ‘busy’. If this time is respected for what it is, it will enable more light to shine through. This time has also made us all realize.
what’s truly important.
Not even a hundred days of lockdown and all of us are complaining about feeling anxious, depressed, or simply unwell. We speak about our desires to roam free because we feel caged.
So to get rid of all these things we all have to be patient. Only patience will work.
What is patience?
Patience is the ability to endure difficult circumstances such as perseverance in the face of delay; tolerance of provocation without responding in annoyance/anger; or forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties.
The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
In relation to sports, the best player in cricket is who plays test matches actually test cricket is a real test of a cricketer. One fine inning, patience is needed to stay on wicket.
One has to stay calm, intelligent, and technology has to be good. It takes a number of years much hard work and practice to reach this stage.
The saying “patience is a virtue,” stands true in sports. The quality of being patient is an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. Patient athletes display composure, perseverance, and diligence in their performance. Self-control is an asset in sports because it makes you better, and it helps you make the right decisions at the right moments. The patience level of a sportsperson is good as in both ways mentally as well as physically.
Firstly let’s talk about physical patience.
To learn all the skills of the game a sportsperson does a lot of hard work.
To play any sports, physical fitness is a must. It goes on and on throughout the year.
It doesn’t matter whether it is 10°c or 45°c degrees even sometimes it goes beyond that.
Secondly, now let’s talk about mental patients.
When a sportsperson does hard work for each and every skill again and again Brain also rehearsed it many times. The time body and mind work together to master the skill. Sportsperson knows how to overcome failures, by doing hard work and practice over again and again. This is the reason why in every school there is a sports field and sports day is a “big event”.
We show patience where we want to or where we don’t have any other way. Patience is a gift “Add it as mandatory to live”
In today’s scenario, fast life is the new trend. We live our lives so fast that we don’t care to bother about anything or about anyone. Actually the thing is that we all have become really impatient. Impatience ruins the game of life. We start our day in a hush not getting up on time as sleep is the most relaxing thing in life leaving half breakfast on the table, forgetting important things back at home most of the time.
Everything is overlapping other things.
Like this, we are hunting for short term success. We don’t take time to reflect on life regularly by doing so we end up with life by what just happened. Same stuff over again and again still if it’s not working.
When it comes to a personal relationship
Impatience ends up the relationship but what builds relationships strongly is Patience. Strong relationships can’t build quickly it takes time, empathy, and respect for each other.
Ways to improve.
1. In some situations only patience can work and can control you as impatience can worst the situation and will definitely not work, like when you get stuck in traffic we curse others, instead of that we should think we are also a part of this traffic so who’s at fault. One must think like this. We are people, we are the world and we are spoiled.
2. Another way to improve patience is to slow down your activity. When we teach a small kid any new rhyme we do it at a slow pace or add music to it. Same way if you walk 10km/hr slow down it to 5km/hr, by doing this your mind gets relaxed and new ideas hit you.
3. When the anxiety level gets high, the performance of mental and physical ability both drops down. So by inhaling and exhaling slowly mind works in a more creative way. More ideas, way outs will be in the queue of thoughts.
4. Meditation:- Take a time-out and practice a short meditation to help you calm any frustration or anger that may result from the situation you are in. Close your eyes, sit silently try to recall your thoughts, or else concentrate on one particular thing. Do it every day, give time to yourself, and to your thoughts. It definitely helps in improving patience.
